Laundry may not be one of the top chores on your list, but it’s an important part of life. Thankfully there are ways to make doing laundry more enjoyable and having clothes that look fresh with bright colors again is possible! Here are some tips to help make laundry day easier!
Use vinegar
If your clothes and towels are starting to look dull, rewashing with the correct detergent dose in hot water safe for fabrics should brighten most items, and you should do this every time. If that doesn’t work out there’s always vinegar! Just add one cup of distilled white vinegar into the drum, then load as normal when washing towels or other goods containing natural fibres like cotton – it softens them beautifully without any residue soaps left behind.
Soften towels
If you’re tired of your towels being hard and flat, try the vinegar in tip 1 especially if you are restoring colored ones. White towels can go through the hottest cycle possible with just one cup of ammonia-treated water or balled up tin foil throughout their wash to get them fluffy again!
Prevent white streaks
Why do you have white streaks on dark clothes? It’s not a stain, it happens when the friction of washing creates runs in dye. You can prevent this by using colors that don’t run easily or only use one color at a time – but if they’ve already come out with these issues then there isn’t much you can do other than re-dying the items or selecting a gentler wash cycle in future.
Yellow stains
Mixed with sweat, deodorants cause staining on white clothes and other items; but don’t worry! With some bleach you’ll be able to make them fresh again for next time. Mix 1 cup hot water into one teaspoon baking soda then soak all your stains until they’re bleached right out – let dry overnight before washing as per care label instructions.
Prevent wool from skrinking
After shrinking a wool sweater or pair of socks, you might be wondering can it be fixed? The answer is yes but not always. When still wet from washing the item in question will need to go through an agitation process so that stretching and reshaping occurs easier because there are many threads running throughout its woven fabric construction method (this makes rewashing much less difficult). Make sure to use warm water with some detergent if necessary before agitating; once damp enough add relaxer clips onto desired section(s) then carefully pull them apart as needed until flat again.
